Vincent van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh(Dutch, 1853 - 1890)

Vincent van Gogh transformed ordinary subjects into some of the most emotionally charged images in art history. Flowers, wheat fields, and starry night skies came alive through his dense, restless brushwork and bold colors. He used these techniques not just to copy the world, but to express how it felt.

He was born in the Netherlands and worked in several roles before becoming an artist, including art dealer, teacher, and religious worker. He later moved across Europe to places like Paris, Arles, and Saint-Rémy, which deeply shaped his changing state of mind and his art. After a long struggle with mental illness, he died by suicide at the age of 37.

Although he received little recognition during his lifetime, Van Gogh’s work later became one of the defining forces in modern art. His deeply personal vision helped make inner experience just as important as visible reality, inspiring and permanently reshaping the world of painting.
